SWISS airlines has warned that soaring fuel costs are eating into profits, even as revenues climb
The Lufthansa subsidiary posted nine-month revenue of CHF 4.38 billion, up 5.3%, with adjusted operating profit of CHF 421 million.
But SWISS says kerosene now costs twice what it did in January, pushed up by the Middle East conflict and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
The airline carried 13.7 million passengers in the period — slightly fewer than last year — and expects fuel pressure to worsen through the fourth quarter and into 2027.
