A national parliamentarian is calling for a change in the health laws that means restaurants and shops which fail a health test are made public.
At the moment, it remains a secret.
The issue has been highlighted after details of a shop stocking Asian foods in canton Aargau was fined nearly CHF 4,000 for poor hygiene conditions.
But we don’t know the name of the shop and MP Gabriela Suter says it's unfair as now all Asian shops in the canton will be under suspicion even those which adhere to the law.
She’s proposing a new law, similar to that used in the UK and US, where the shop or restaurant has to display the result of the latest inspection.
