Post-pandemic record number of passengers at Zurich airport

Zurich airport has recorded the highest number of passengers passing through the airport since the Covid-19 pandemic began.

On Sunday, more than 100,000 passengers took flights to or from Zurich. Over the next few weeks, the airport is expecting the bar of 100,000 passengers to be passed several times over.

The number of flights in and out of Zurich is also on the increase. In the last ten days, marking the start of school holidays in many cantons and parts of Germany, the number of take-offs and landings increased by more than 9% compared to the previous year, reaching nearly 7,500. However, these figures are still around 10% lower than before the pandemic.

Over the last 10 days, London was the most popular destination for passengers from Zurich, followed by Palma, Frankfurt and Amsterdam.
