The Federal police cybercrime unit is warning of a sophisticated scam.
On one level it’s a standard phishing exercise. The potential victim is sent a link from what looks like Amazon asking to update information, such as credit card details.
The sophistication comes from how the website looks: It looks exactly like the genuine site.
Once the potential victim has supposedly updated the credit card details, it’s immediately used to make online purchases.
The police say only access the site from the original website – don’t follow links sent by email.
If you have been sent an email that looks like it's from Amazon, the police asks you to contact them on the email: event@cybercrimepolice.ch
