Wildlife authorities in the French department of Haute Savoie are hailing their success for trapping Asian Hornets.
From the end of April, 531 females were caught. The trapping will continue to end of this month.
The invasive species are a threat to local bees and can destroy hives.
5,000 mechanical traps were set across the area.
The authorities say there’ll be a further trapping campaign at the end of the summer.
