A report by the Federal Energy Office suggests a third of electricity consumption in the country could be saved if we updated many household appliances.
The report hasn’t been published yet, but details have been released by the SonntagsZeitung.
The report points out much could be saved if outdated fridges, dryers, washing machines and water heaters were updated.
Even a new vacuum cleaner consumes a third of the electricity than an older model.
It advises updating equipment and using LED lighting as much as possible.
