Several new streets in central Lausanne will drop to 30 kilometres per hour from 12 October, day and night, according to a letter the city has sent to affected residents
The city is framing the change as a safety and quality-of-life measure.
Some parking spaces along the new zones will also be removed.
Avenue de Morges was already reclassified as a 30-zone earlier this year.
The move follows similar traffic-calming rollouts across Romandy.
