Noise traffic radars are now a thing.

Geneva says the pilot phase of the devices has been a success and now they can be used to issue fines.

Geneva is one of the worst cities in the country for noise pollution – and levels regularly exceed federal set limits.

The State Councillor, Antonio Hodgers, says technological improvements allow the detectors to correctly identify the source.

One last hurdle before the bills come through the post. Federal law needs to be changed to allow their use, but Geneva says it’s ready.
