A new Swiss designed test for antibodies is being hailed as a game changer.

Developed by the EPFL in Lausanne the University of Geneva and the University Hospital, the test can check for coronavirus antibodies with just a pinprick of blood – and then can analyse over 1,000 samples at a time.

The researchers say the test means it will be easier to collect the samples as it can be done at home and used on children.

Antibody testing is considered a powerful tool for following the spread of infections and monitoring the effectiveness of vaccines.

The test is currently being used to check the spread of the coronavirus in kindergartens in Geneva.
