A Swiss People’s Party parliamentarian wants to speed up the deportation of failed asylum seekers – and suggests cantons which are faster than others should be financially rewarded.
Mike Egger says it’s not acceptable that some cantons deport those denied permission to stay quicker than others.
But the State Secretariat for Migration says there are many reasons why some are not deported faster than others due to lack of paperwork or legal appeals.
