Most now favour single insurer

More people are now in favour of a single health insurer.

Support for the idea has surged in recent years as health costs spiral – the idea has been rejected by voters in the past. But a survey by the consulting firm Deloitte suggests many have changed their minds.

Now 65% would like a single insurer.

The insurance companies are under pressure as now more people are prepared to change their company. Almost half say they want to change this autumn.

The public are also demanding better offers from the companies and to make better use of modern technology.

Support for a single insurer is greatest in the French and Italian speaking regions.

Many blame the pharmaceutical firms for the health cost climb as well as an aging population and the patients themselves.
