The retailer Migros is upping its minimum wage as from January.
It will pay at least CHF 4,100 a month. Those on an apprentice scheme will get between CHF 4,200 and CHF 4,500 depending on length.
Other workers will get a rise on a case-by-case basis.
Migros says the rise is needed to take into account rising wages elsewhere and inflation.
The changes will add 1% to the company’s wage bill.
