Middle classes are feeling the pinch

The middle class in Switzerland is feeling the financial pinch.

The latest results from the Swiss Family Barometer shows that even those families on a household income of more than CHF 10,000 a month say they have little left after all the bills have been paid.

The head of the pressure group Pro Familia, Philippe Gnaegi, says it’s a wake-up call when 80% of the people in the world’s richest country are so pessimistic.

The survey shows that 76% of families are not able to save the recommended CHF 500 a month and 30% are unable to save anything.
