A man is on trial in Lucerne after firing on a group of young adults who were making a noise outside his apartment. The man used his army issued assault rifle.

The 38-year-old grabbed his gun in July 2017. He fired one shot at the group who were around 45 meters away.

A 21-year-old was hit and injured. The gunman then raced to the scene with a first aid kit.

He was arrested shortly after.

The man told the court he had been drinking and smoking hemp.

Prosecutors are demanding 7 years in jail.

The trial continues.
