A man has died after a sledding accident on the Renards slope in the Châtel region on Saturday.
Reports say the 36-year-old man from Thonon had been hiking up the slope with snow shoes – and then swapped them for the sledge for the trip down.
He lost control and was thrown onto rocks.
Initially conscious he was helicoptered to the Geneva University Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
