Geneva airport says it will fine airlines from next year if they depart after 10pm.
The idea is to cut noise for local residents.
It’s being reported the fines can range from CHF 5,000 to 20,000 for a European flight.
Intercontinental flights may have to pay as much as CHF 40,000.
The fines will depend on the type of aircraft – older, and so louder planes, will have to pay more.
