Last day for 2022 vignette

Swiss Customs Office

Today is the last day you can use the 2022 autoroute vignette. From tomorrow, you’ll have to have 2023 sticker.

Authorities stress that the vignette must be stuck to the windscreen with its own adhesive and in a position it can be easily seen.

You’ll need one to drive on any autoroute and even some main roads.

The government is warning there are illegal websites which are offering an electronic vignette.

The e-vignettes are not available yet - and any site offering to sell one is a scam. But there are plans to roll out an electronic version in the course of this year. It will be linked with the licence plate of the car. But the stickers will remain, the two systems will run together for the time being.

A vignette costs CHF 40.

You will be fined CHF 200, plus the CHF 40 for sticker, if you’re caught without one.
