Kebab may not be what you ordered

If you order a kebab in Basel – you may not be getting exactly what you asked for – and be extra careful if you have an allergy.

Following an inspection by cantonal authorities, they found that out of 20 kebabs they ordered – four did not have the meat they advertised and some had milk, probably in the sauce, which hadn’t been declared.

Inspectors ordered a veal kebab – and found it contained pork and another had chicken.

Also, many hadn’t listed ingredients that could trigger an allergic reaction.

The canton says it will make another inspection at a later date to see if things have been improved.
