Jammed motorists entertained by protest

Operation Libero

Returning traffic at the Gotthard Tunnel caused tailbacks running for 8 km at the southern end yesterday afternoon.

But vacationers were entertained by a climate protest that wasn’t anything to do with the delay.

A group from Operation Libero dressed as Power Rangers handed out leaflets and sweets to motorists.

They’re asking for support ahead of the Climate Protection vote in June.

Motorists told the press it was a better way to get the message across as the action was not the cause of the holdup.

Operation Libero issued a statement asking for help in moving renewable energy forward. They also point out they got out of the way when the traffic did move.
