Doctors at the Geneva University Hospital are urging more people to come forward and give blood – especially those under 30.
The Blood Transfusion Service says it has two main problems - not enough give blood, and they don’t come back often enough.
So, a new campaign is being launched to recruit more donors – especially those aged between 18 and 30.
The hospital says donations have been dropping for several years – and it’s been worse since the beginning of this year. It goes through 60 bags a day and staff say they’re barely making it.
To get their message to the under 30s, the hospital is using the example of video games – saying each time you give blood, that an extra life you can offer.
