It was the hottest day of the month in Geneva yesterday – a measurement taken at the airport showed 39.3.
But the absolute record remains intact – that was in July 2015 when it hit 39.7 in Geneva.
Other records are being beaten, it was the hottest in Nyon yesterday – reaching 38.5, half a degree more than the previous record set in 2015.
The river water is hotting up – the Rhone, measured at the Halle de l’Ile, reached 27. That’s one of the highest readings since 1998.
