Hospital overrun with vaccine hunters

The main hospital in the small central canton of Schwyz had to bring in security staff to handle the larger than expected crowds looking to get vaccinated.

A spokeswoman for the hospital says although they were offering appointment free jabs – some had to be told to come back the next day. The hospital is expanding its capacity. It’s now vaccinating 400 a day.

Canton Schwyz has a fairly low vaccination rate compared to the rest of the country. Only 46% have been fully jabbed – nationally that number is 53%.
