Swiss prosecutors have dismissed a rare homicide case involving an 87-year-old former family doctor who killed his partner while asleep in September 2024.
According to the news site, Beobachter, forensic experts concluded the man was suffering from an REM sleep behavior disorder and acted without awareness or control.
Authorities ruled there was no intentional homicide, ending the case. But the man has lost his medical license and must pay CHF 30,000 in court costs.
