Greenpeace environmental activists targeted the Nestlé headquarters in Vaud yesterday evening – calling it the world’s worst plastic polluter.
With slogans like ‘Nestlé, stop feeding the world with plastic’ and ‘stop single use’, Greenpeace hopes to embarrass the multinational into action.
Greenpeace says the company was responsible for 1.3m tonnes of single use plastic last year and says only 1% of its products use recyclable packaging.
Another group, ‘Break Free From Plastic’ claims Nestlé is in the top three plastic polluters in the world.
Nestlé has said in the past that it’s making meaningful progress in sustainable packaging.
