The City of Geneva has voted unanimously in favour of a motion to help businesses which are being negatively affected by nearby public road works.
But the type of assistance being offered is vague – and it doesn’t necessarily mean money.
The city will endeavour to make sure access is maintained and cafes should be able to keep their terraces.
But there could be a temporary reduction in business rents.
The mayor, Alfonso Gomez, made it clear the main aim of the motion is to help small businesses.
