Geneva taxi drivers demonstrated yesterday against a new agreement the canton has made with Uber.
More than 200 gathered at the Department of the Economy to denounce the decision to allow Uber to continue to operate, despite a ruling by the Federal Court that the hailing company was breaking employment laws by treating drivers as independent workers.
The canton allowed Uber to operate after it signalled a commitment to comply with the law.
Taxi drivers say they may take further action against Uber unless their concerns are addressed.
