The City of Geneva has unveiled its plans for the August 1st National Day this year.
The celebrations will be centred around the La Grange Park.
There’ll be flag throwing and alphorns as well as speeches and a reading of the Federal Pact from 1291.
There’s also be a chance to try out less publicized sport – such as tchouk-ball, which was invented in Switzerland, and disc golf and ultimate frisbee.
A wide range of food will be available as well as locally brewed beer.
The International Committee of the Red Cross will be the guest of honour, highlighting the fact that Geneva is the cradle of international humanitarian law.
