Three Geneva waste dumps available to people to get rid of bulky items will reopen on Sundays after a push by the Green Party.
The dumps at La Praille, Bernex and Bellevue all closed their gates on Sundays from March this year – due to a lack of funding.
The Greens say having the facilities open on Sundays are essential as it’s the time many people do DIY and gardening.
But detractors say the budget for the dumps remains in deficit and another way to finance them will have to be found.
