Good news for Geneva’s four-legged friends: the cantonal dog pound in Collex-Bossy is getting a makeover.
The current shelter, built in the early 1960s, will be demolished to make way for a bigger, modern facility designed with both dogs and staff in mind.
The new centre will add around 2,300 square meters of outdoor space, including more paddocks and play areas.
Officials promise the existing shelter will stay open during construction, so no lost pup will be left out in the cold.
A credit of CHF 1.5m has just been submitted to the Grand Council to get things rolling.
