For the first time since the 1970s, Geneva built more than 3,000 new homes in one year.
Figures just released by the canton show last year 3,428 new homes were created – breaking the 3,000 barrier for the first time since 1975.
The most homes were in the city with more than 800, then around 600 in Plan-les-Ouates and a further 600 in Vernier.
In 1975, Geneva built the Lignon complex, Les Avanchets and the Cité-Nouvelle in Onex.
