Football will be on trial in Switzerland in June.

The trial date for the former head of FIFA, Sepp Blatter and the former head of UEFA, Michel Platini has been set for June 8th - it’s expected to last for around three weeks.

The pair are charged with corruption after FIFA paid Platini CHF 2m. The defendants claim the money was for back dated salary and consultancy fees.

Blatter was forced to quit FIFA in 2015 after leading the organisation for 17 years and Platini left UEFA the following year. Both were banned from any football activity for 6 years for ethics violations.
