An advert for an apartment in Sankt Gallen is causing a stir after it asked only for a ‘middle-aged working woman.’ All others would be rejected, it warns.
The debate hinges on wherever it’s discriminatory or not.
The landlord is not commenting, but the Eastern Swiss Tenants’ Association told the ‘St Galler Tagblatt’ newspaper it isn’t, as discriminatory laws apply to workplaces.
The ad was shared on social media, comments varied from that it sounds a bit creepy, to others saying a landlord has the right to decide the sort of person they want in their property.
