Financial tax idea to fund pensions

The Centre Party is proposing to tax financial transactions to pay for the 13th month pension payment.

They say it will be more targeted than a rise in VAT and won’t affect private individuals. It will only affect companies that make a lot of transactions.

The party’s president, Gerhard Pfister, says the implementation of the 13th month will not be painless and it’s delusional that it could be paid for by saving elsewhere.

He also says the 13th month will also have to be paid to those on a disability pension otherwise it will be discriminatory.
