It may not seem like it – but there are fewer cars in Geneva.
The latest figures from the Cantonal Statistics Office show there was a drop in new registrations last year of 0.4%.
While it isn’t much, it’s the continuaton of a trend that’s been going on since 2005. During that time the number of Geneva registered cars has dropped by 10,000 says the office.
While petrol and diesel cars remain dominant, there are fewer than before as the number of electric or hybrid cars has jumped by around 30%.
