A heavily armed Geneva police unit rushed to a school in Charmilles yesterday after an active shooter AMOK alert was triggered.
It was found to be a false alarm caused by a power cut.
Geneva has a response team to deal with possible school shootings, it’s been in place since the Columbine shooting in Colorado in 1999.
The AMOK alarm at the school is now being checked. It’s a known problem that power issues could set off the alert.
