A candidate for the Swiss People’s Party in Valais is regretting a video he made in 2008.
There are local elections this weekend in the commune of Naters. Standing, is 42-year-old Benjamin Kalbermatter.
He was filmed in a bar during a local festival, drunk and shouting he supported Hitler and doing the Nazi salute. He was 26 at the time.
He says he now regrets it, he doesn’t support Hitler and a lot of alcohol was involved at the time.
The local party say they’re aware of the video – and they say it’s up to voters if they forgive him.
