Dangerous trees at Bioparc

The popular Bioparc in Geneva will be closed for the next few days as the canton has said the trees are dangerous and have ordered some felling.

Two oak trees have already fallen – fortunately no one was injured, or animals, but a car was damaged.

Other trees are thought to be in danger. The park says the heat wave, drought and then heavy rain has affected them and made them more likely to come down.

There are also concerns of air currents that are occasionally caused by low flying aircraft as its on the flight path for the airport.
