Although the pay discrepancy is a major problem in Switzerland with women regularly earning less than their male counterparts, the City of Geneva has been given a clean bill of health.
An independent study has shown the pay difference is only 0.9% to the disadvantage of women.
Federal rules say if that figure is below 5%, then there isn’t a significant problem.
The City says it’s delighted at the result.
