Looking for cheap fuel? Prices are set to plunge in Germany after the government there cut tax on petrol and diesel.
The Swiss government has decided not to take any action. The finance minister Ueli Maurer says the average Swiss person is rich enough to afford the higher prices.
But those living close to the border could benefit. The German move means a litre of petrol will fall by 35 centimes and diesel by 17 centimes.
A similar move by Italy saw border filling stations busy – and Swiss stations close to the border deserted.
The German tax cut took effect yesterday – but it applies to fuel leaving the refinery – so it will take a few days to hit the pumps.
