A driver who decided it would be a good idea to make a three-point turn in the middle of the Gotthard Tunnel is facing fines of CHF 3,500.
For reasons that aren’t clear – the German driver decided he didn’t want to continue his journey towards Ticino and turned back shortly after entering the tunnel.
The Uri cantonal prosecutor says the manoeuvre was ‘grossly careless’.
The fine also includes the fact the car didn’t have an autoroute vignette.
