This month will see two important national votes decided.
On the 28th, the people will decide if the Covid 19 restrictions should stay in place or be swept aside and if more nurses should be trained and formally recognised.
On the Covid laws, hundreds gathered in Zurich calling for them to be scrapped. But a counter march in favour of the rules soon formed. Neither march was authorized.
In Bern, nurses and supporters of the ‘strong nursing care’ initiative marched in the city.
The campaign is calling for more nurses to be trained and the government to set salaries.
Parliament has already approved a counter-initiative which goes some way to those goals as the government believes the text of the initiated is too much.
If the vote fails, the counter initiative will become law automatically.
