Recent efforts to cut rush hour traffic through the smaller border posts around Geneva are not working, according to locals.
One attempt was to put lights at the Soral 1 post – which are set to be red 70% of the time at rush hour.
The Soral Deputy Mayor, Laura Weiss, says the only way to bring down the traffic is to widen the Bardonnex post to at least three lanes. She says she’s heard complaints that it can take almost an hour to get through at times.
She says that if there’s no noticeable difference soon, there would be no option other than to close the small border entirely.
