Call for witnesses after woman drowns in Lake Geneva

Police are appealing for help in trying to identify a woman who drowned after apparently swimming alone in Lake Geneva.

The woman was pulled from the lake on Wednesday evening near the Quai des Fleurs between Montreux and Territet in the canton of Vaud.

The victim is described as white, approximately 1 meter 65 tall, aged between 60 and 70 years old. She is of medium to heavy build with shoulder length grey hair. She was dressed in a black one-piece swimsuit.

Police say that a white bathrobe with an embroidered diamond logo was found on the shore near to where the woman was discovered along with a pair of brown Hermès sandals. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Vaud Police. The number is 021 333 5 333.
