After many years of decline, burglaries are up.
The latest figures show break-ins across the country last year were up 14% - it’s the same rate of increase in Geneva.
The police warn that burglars are more active during the winter – especially at dusk. They say potential thieves are very capable of spotting an unoccupied house.
They suggest it’s a good idea to leave a light on and make sure all doors and windows are locked.
It’s the first time in 10 years the numbers have increased.
