Biden and Putin may meet in Switzerland next month

There’s growing speculation US president Joe Biden and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin will meet in Switzerland next month.

Last month Biden told the press he would like to meet Putin in a third country.

The Russian press is saying that will be here on June 15th or 16th.

But the Kremlin has not confirmed the meeting.

Exactly where in Switzerland is not clear. In 1985 Mikhail Gorbachev and Ronald Reagan met in Geneva. The international city has to be a likely spot.

The Swiss press says the foreign ministry has offered to host the meeting – but Austria and Finland are also mentioned as possible venues.
