The Balexert Shopping Centre in Geneva had to be evacuated yesterday afternoon after a fire broke out on the section that spans the route de Meyrin.
Firefighters say a pile of cardboard caught fire and quickly filled the centre with smoke.
IT took 11 fire engines and 32 firefighters to bring the blaze under control.
No one was injured and centre reopened later in the afternoon.
