Residents in the town of Baar in canton Zug were shocked when police abseiled down a building, crashed in through the window and fired shots.
Witnesses say it seemed like a serious situation.
But it was just an exercise.
Even so, some residents say the location was inappropriate – in the middle of town and near a kindergarten.
Police say these types of exercise take place on a regular basis.
