A major study by the Comparis website shows there are thousands of Swiss French families considering moving out of Switzerland and into neighbouring France.
In all, just over 5% of families say they’re considering the move – that would be 51,000 households.
Cost of living is cited as the main reason, including lower property prices. Many also believe the quality of life would be better.
But there are some things which are holding people back – mainly length of commuting to their Swiss jobs and the distance from family and friends.
But nearly 70% say they already know someone who has made the move – that could accelerate the trend.
