Commuters from the Pays de Gex are being urged to complete an online form to give their views on what to do with the large roundabout just before the border at Meyrin.
Jams during rush hour are common. Currently 30,000 cars pass through the Meyrin customs every day – and it’s expected that number to climb significantly over the next few years as 10,000 more homes are planned for the region.
Officials are highlighting their suggestion which will put traffic lights on a redesigned junction, including an underpass for pedestrians and cyclists and a bus lane which will accommodate a new high frequency bus service.
There’s also plans for a large new car park which could also be used as a park and ride facility.
