Young speeder jailed then deported

Kapo ZH

A young man who borrowed a high-powered BMW and then crashed it, causing life changing injures to a mother and child, has been jailed – and will be deported after his sentence.

The woman and her family have been awarded CHF 150,000 in damages following the accident in Dietikon in canton Zurich in October 2019.

In summing up, the judge said the driver acted irresponsibly and he didn’t believe the remorse was genuine. He said the man was more concerned about what was going to happen to him.

The 22-year-old is a Kosovan national and will be jailed for 4 years. Then he will have to return to his home country.
